Cleaning Your Stained Glass |
|
When needed, wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. The first attempt at cleaning your stained glass item should be with water alone. It's best to use distilled water only. Hard water could spot the glass. Abrasive, acidic agents or household glass cleaners that contain ammonia are to be avoided. Ammonia can often cause a negative reaction with the putty or came. Once a year, apply a small amount of Simichrome Polish ( available at most grocery or hardware stores) to the seams of your glass item if they are silver, in order to restore their brilliance. When you receive your glass product from Stained Glass by Judy, it is cleaned and polished to a glistening luster. About once a year, you may want to bring back the high gloss shine to your glass with the same product that I use in my finishing process. This product will both clean and polish your stained glass piece. As my client, you may either request that I include a bottle of the Finishing Compound when I ship your commissioned product or you may purchase it at any time from Warner Crivellaro online. |
